Is it worth it to buy PRP for your Hair Transplant?

PRP for hair transplant

The basic idea behind PRP is to stimulate your body to allow it to use its natural healing abilities to regenerate the tissue in your body. Research has shown that PRP can speed up the process of healing by stimulating the cells in the patient’s body to perform better.

1.    What is PRP?

Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) is a concentrated form of platelets harvested from your blood. These platelets contain growth factors that can trigger cell reproduction and stimulate tissue regeneration or healing in the treated area. Platelet-rich plasma is simply blood that contains more platelets than normal. Platelet-rich plasma consists of two elements: plasma, or the liquid portion of blood, and platelets, a type of blood cell that plays an important role in healing throughout the body.

2. What does PRP do to your hair?

PRP or Platelet-Rich Plasma has proven to be one of the most effective treatments for hair loss. PRP for Hair Loss is a revolutionary technique that uses your blood to stimulate hair growth rate. Platelet-rich plasma is a 21 st century technology that is used to help the body heal itself. Researchers have discovered that platelets have all the stem cells in your hair follicles are that give your hair its strength, color, and vitality. PRP is given as an injection of your concentrated platelets into the scalp where they stimulate the growth of new cells.

3. Is PRP worth it for hair loss?

PRP stands for “provillus” which is a hair loss treatment that is made from natural ingredients that have been proven to stop hair loss and improve its density.

Quite recently, doctors have started treating hair loss issues among patients with the use of platelet-rich plasma. To carry it out successfully, the doctor usually obtains a certain volume of blood from the patient’s system and then spins it to separate the platelets from other component cells of the blood. The separated platelets are then injected back into the plasma section of the blood.

The underlying theory behind the treatment stems from the richness of platelets in specialized protein cells, which can aid in healing processes. The treatment methodology takes support in the idea that platelet-rich blood can stimulate newer and fresher hair growth.

PRP hair growth treatment is gaining standardization among medical professionals and the present scope of the treatment Complimentary sittings and treatment may be required in the subsequent months, depending on the individual case.

4. Is PRP better than FUE/FUT

(Hair Transplant)?

Many women and men face the difficulty of thinning or balding hair. Hair restoration treatments include three components: the surgical procedure itself, the anesthetic, and the medication to prevent hair loss after the operation. So far, the most well-known hair restoration solution is a modern Hair Transplant. This is a  surgical procedure that offers you an incredible and permanent solution.

However, not all patients are the perfect candidates for hair transplant procedures as such, some seek out questionable medical alternatives like PRP sessions. The goal of this treatment is to “reactivate” dormant hair follicles- although PRP is not verified by FDA so far. But according to studies, many doctors believe that PRP is more effective than other methods like Minoxidil and Finasteride. PRP hair treatment can help stimulate growth when you do a hair transplant. Recent studies have suggested that applying PRP injections to the scalp can address androgenic alopecia (male pattern baldness).

CONCLUSION

In summary, Yes PRP is worth it, but there are some factors involved in it. PRP works by increasing the production of natural cells, but sometimes it may cause your body to reject the hair follicles. This is similar to patients with autoimmune disorders who have an increased likelihood of implant rejection. The best method for you depends on your hair type, but there are options out there. Research your options thoroughly, especially when it comes to something as important as your appearance. I wouldn’t do PRP for a hair transplant. I’d recommend FUE or FUT instead. I’d be happy to discuss this topic at greater length in the comments section.
