Breast Mastopexy

Breast Mastopexy is the procedure for Breast Lifting/Tightening or Natural positioning, where nature lets down. Mastopexy can also reduce the size of the areola, the darker skin surrounding the nipple.

If your breasts are small size or when it sags after pregnancy or due to age, the breast implants are inserted in same sitting with mastopexy. The procedure can increase both the firmness and size of your breasts.
Best results are achieved in female with small, drooping & sagging breasts.

Raise and reshape sagging breasts by removing excess skin and repositioning tissue and nipples.
Procedure involves an incision following the natural contour of the breast. The incision marks the area from which breast skin will be removed and create the new location for the nipple. With removal of the excess skin, the nipple and areola are moved to the higher position, to reshape the breast. Stitches are usually located around the areola, in a vertical line extending downwards from the nipple area, and along the lower crease of the breast.

Mastopexy usually takes 2 to 4 hours.

Breast lifts are usually performed under general anaesthesia, may use local anaesthesia, combined with a sedative

Day care/Inpatient

Your breast lift is usually performed on day care basis in the clinic; you can go home on the same day. It is sometimes performed on an inpatient basis.

Side-Effects / Risks

A breast lift is not a simple operation, but it's normally safe. As with any surgery, there is always a possibility of complications or a reaction to the anaesthesia. Bleeding and infection following a breast lift are less common.
Mastopexy does leave noticeable initially, permanent scars, usually faded well with passing of time and become barely visible in number of patients although they'll be covered by your bra or bathing suit.

After the surgery an elastic bandage or a surgical bra has to be worn by the patient. The treated area is covered by over gauze dressings for fast recovery. For 1 or 2 days, breasts may be bruised, swollen and uncomfortable, mild pain. Any discomfort can be relieved with prescribed medications.
After 7 to 10 days, stitches will be removed. After few days, the bandages or surgical bra will be removed and you will be able to wear a soft support bra.
Healing is a gradual process. Avoid lifting anything over your head for three to four weeks. If you have any unusual symptoms, don't hesitate to call Dr. Nagwani.

The personal life improves and the patient develops confidence after the breast lift. The scars can usually be placed in such a way that you can wear even low-cut tops.
